Events at Hengistbury Head

Pottery Club

Try out your pot making skills such as slab, coil and thumb techniques, in addition to learning glazing and underglazing your pottery. Get creative, making your own sculptures and pots, to be kiln fired and taken home for your enjoyment.

Each session costs £10 which provides tuition, as well all materials and equipment. Call 01292 451618 to book.

Sand Art

Sand Art uses colourful sand to make wonderful pictures. The workshops are incredible fun, not only for the children, but the parents too. Sand Art is engaging and addictive, giving children the instant satisfaction and enjoyment that they love. 

No need to book. Pictures cost between £2.50 and £5

Fossil Art

Don't miss the chance to join John House in creating wonderful fossil art, creating realistic fossils using natural materials. There is no need to book in advance, but there is a cost of £5

Hengistbury Writers

Come and join the informal and friendly group of writers at Hengistbury Head. All abilities are welcomed, from novices to novelists. Whatever your particular writing interests are, come and share your ideas and experience, as well as recieve some helpful feedback. Hot drinks and biscuits are also provided. There is no need to book in advance and the event is free, but there is a suggested donation of £2.

Pendant Making

Join the artist-archaeologist John House in making your very own pendant using natural materials. Must book in advance (01202 451618) and the cost is £6 per pendant.

Needle Felting

Come and join in with Debra Marsh's needle felting, where you can learn the basics of the craft and create something to take home, all for the cost of £10, including a hot drink. Booking is required (01202 451618
